Rising music star/rapper Olamide took to twitter to call Nigerian celebrity blogger Linda Ikeji “foolish” (oloshi) for her allegedly false story claiming his long time girlfriend is now his baby mama. In his tweet, he also accused Ikeji of not posting his music on her site and apparently felt it was justification to go berserk on her.
Linda Ikeji’s response is interesting. She claims she does not post his music because he does not send his work to her. Is it s a secret that Linda Ikeji charges for stories on her site including music, albeit not all stories? I, for one, have received email with her quoting her rates and the replying party inadvertently sent the email to me.
If Olamide is interested in having music on her site, I think he will have to discuss the appropriate rates, not so?
In any event, I am not sure a post claiming Olamide’s girlfriend is his new baby mama, although libelous, if untrue, warrants the name calling.
Then again, you may hold a different opinion.
I am also not sure why Wizkid felt the need to gbeborun (amebo) and also curse Linda Ikeji in the matter? Wizkid says, “all the foolish people I curse as well. E no go better for them i.e. evil shall befall them.”
*Sigh* The shenanigans of social media.
NOTE: We have dealt with issues of publishing false stories and the corresponding liabilities. Almost all stories have involved Linda Ikeji and I have said it is only a matter of time before she is sued for libel/defamation should she continue in this vein. I have also said if she does not have a lawyer, she should at this point; and should implement some best practices in running her business to diminish the liability issue.
Review prior discussions here.
Cheers,
Uduak
