I said it before, I’ll say it again. Davido should NOT have signed a recording deal with Sony. In my view, at best, if he signed any deal with Sony, it should have been either a joint venture, distribution, equity (with partial ownership), or some other derivative type of deal. In the meantime, it appears Davido’s EP that he promised would be released this September is now allegedly delayed, again. (This is not unusual by industry standard for a typical artist signed to a traditional record deal. Davido, however, is not your typical artist).

In the past weeks, the 23-year-old HKN Music head had excitedly promised that his first releases under Sony Music would be in September, but that possibility appears to have suffered a blow.
Davido, obviously pissed at the new development, took to his Snapchat to vent about the seemingly unending delay, while also making an attempt to absolve himself of any blame.
